Those figures are our own published starting prices, not market averages. Each is for two adults sharing, on a private trip with your own air-conditioned cab and driver rather than seats on a shared coach. It helps to read them as four investment tiers, each buying a different amount of Kerala.

What is included in the price?
Every package price covers the parts of a trip that are hardest to arrange well on your own: the stays, the vehicle and the driver. Each one includes:
- Accommodation for every night in the category the package names: premium hill resorts in Munnar, a jungle resort in Thekkady, sea-view properties in Kovalam.
- A private air-conditioned cab for all transfers and sightseeing, with driver allowance and fuel.
- Daily breakfast.
- On routes with a houseboat night, lunch, dinner and breakfast on board.
Some packages add specifics: Munnar Short Escape includes tea estate and museum entry, and Romantic Kerala includes the Periyar Lake boat ride in Thekkady.
What is not included, and what should you plan for separately?
Four things sit outside every package price, and it is worth knowing them before you compare quotes.
- Flights and train tickets. You book these yourself; we advise on which airport and timings suit the route.
- Lunches and dinners at hotels, unless your itinerary specifies them. Houseboat meals are the exception and are included.
- Entry fees to national parks and other sights, apart from the ones named in your package.
- Personal expenses and tips, along with optional extras such as Ayurveda or spa treatments.

Dates matter most. Mid-December to mid-January is peak season, when resorts and houseboats are at their fullest and priced accordingly; December–January fills about 6 weeks ahead. Trip length

Houseboat class
A houseboat night carries more than a hotel night does: the boat, its crew and three meals. Which tier suits which couple?
